“Practicing quality Gastroenterology with a strong
personal commitment” has been the way Dr. Kosinski has approached
medicine for the past 30 years. In the mid-1990’s, Dr. Kosinski saw
healthcare changing, converting from a cottage-industry moving towards
a corporate model. This trend led him further his education again, this
time in business rather than medicine.
After graduating from the Kellogg School of
Business with an MBA, Dr. Kosinski adopted key business principles into
Elgin Gastroenterology, the practice he has been with since 1990. Some
key advancements that he has accomplished are creating an EMR, creating
a physician production system, introducing activity based costing,
developing an Infusion Center, a Clinical
Laboratory, patient satisfaction surveys and an interactive website.
In 2004, Elgin Gastroenterology opened the Elgin Gastroenterology
Endoscopy Center - a licensed facility that is Medicare Certified and
Accredited by AAAHC that performs approximately 3,500 endoscopic
procedures per year.
Dr. Kosinski has served on multiple boards and
committees for the American Gastroenterology Association, Crohn’s
Colitis Foundation of Illinois, Algonquin Road Surgery Center, Sherman
Hospital, St. Joseph’s Provena Hospital, Kane County Medical Society,
Good Shepherd Hospital, Cresent Counties Foundation for Medical Care
(CCFMC), Illinois Physician Network (IPN), and the P.E.P. Health
Alliance. His most recent appointment has been as a surveyor for the
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
